Ontario issued invitations to international student graduates in the GTA with a minimum score of 81. This post explains what this means and how to prepare for your application.
On April 30, 2026, the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) conducted a new draw under the Employer Job Offer: International Student stream. This draw was specifically targeted at candidates in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), with a minimum score of 81 points. If you were invited, this is a crucial step toward obtaining Canada PR through Ontario immigration.
This draw focused on international student graduates who have a job offer from an employer in the GTA. While the draw was not tied to specific NOC codes, candidates with skilled positions in management, professional, or technical occupations (NOC TEER 0, 1, 2, or 3) are typically prioritized. If you meet the stream requirements, you may be eligible even if your NOC is not explicitly listed.
If you have an OINP profile with a score of 81 or higher and a job offer in the GTA, check your account for an Invitation to Apply (ITA). You now have 14 days to submit a complete application, including supporting documents such as your degree, job offer letter, and proof of work experience. Missing the deadline means you forfeit the invitation.
An OINP nomination adds 600 points to your CRS score if you are in the Express Entry pool, virtually guaranteeing an invitation for Canada PR in the next federal draw. Even a pre-nomination invitation from OINP can boost your chances significantly.
If you were not invited, don’t worry. The OINP holds regular draws. Ensure your profile is up-to-date with accurate NOC codes and work location. Consider whether you can move to a region outside the GTA for future targeted draws.
